Time Keeps on Slipping

CONCEPT:

The assignment was to create a graphic design that coveys a strong sense of motion. This statement ties time and space together, representational of the space-time continuum. By using the image of the astronomical clock showing not only the 24 hours of the day but the 12 zodiac signs; this image becomes indicative of the movement of hours and the seasons.

Potted Bird of Paradise

CONCEPT:

The assignment required a potted plant study, employing gradients, working with the lighting, including highlights and shadows.

The plant image was found on an English web site selling high end artificial plant products.

A Prius in the Round

CONCEPT:

The assignment required using a photograph of a car, to create a realistic copy by employing the pen tool, gradients and avoid using strokes.

My car is a 2007 Toyota Prius, so when I found an image of the same make and model; in my color I snapped it up! The angles of the building intrigued me and made the illustration more interesting.

Time is Fleeting-Page 1

CONCEPT:

Relate a random image to an unrelated poem or lyric to create a cohesive thematic presentation. This was a three page series. Page one I used a prior work and expanded on the idea of time-space continuum by using lyrics from Rocky Horror Picture Show, "Time Warp".

Anatomy of Saul Bass

CONCEPT:

The assignment was to work with a group and individually to create an Idea Book about a well known graphic designer. The designer chosen was Saul Bass, designer of the original AT&T Bell, the AT&T world logo, the Girl Scouts, Quaker Oats and United Way logos. The layout was to highlight the designer's work without loosing sight of his design style. On this page I focused on his graphic design work. On other pages I focused on his movie poster work.

Alternative Green Project

CONCEPT:

The assignment was to work with a predetermined color palette and advertising copy about the environment. One of the projects in this marketing campaign was the creation of a four-color postcard piece.

The use of natural images of the leaves along with handmade paper reflects the ecological message of the client. Added to the postcard was the recycle symbol to show the use of recycled paper and soy-based inks.

CONCEPT:

CONCEPT:

The assignment was to create a web site for an ethnic restaurant. Provide a site that is easy to navigate with a clean interface.

This site has 12 pages, plus PDF downloadable menus, newsletters, a location map and reviews.

Web Site Mock-up - Typography Trends

CONCEPT:

The assignment was to create a mock-up web site that would introduce the newest textbook in their inventory. Part of the goal was to create a banner ad as well as text book covers. Incorporated into the design is a recently viewed feature; along with other textbooks viewed by other customers. This feature is patterned after Amazon.com.

Flash Web Site - Sensory Experience

CONCEPT:

The assignment was to create a Flash site for a science museum that gave an animated interface and would highlight the five senses in a fun manner for their school aged visitors.

During the Vision portion of the movie presentation the Easter Bunny jiggles showing movement and what it would look like if one was trying to focus with newborn eyes.

CONCEPT:

The assignment was to create a web site for a regional bookseller, LA Book Sense, using Flash elements for an animated header and navigation bar.

Using bright, warm colors that are analogous; this site exudes a sense of friendliness and fun.

CONCEPT:

The assignment was to create a web site for the Wexler School of Dance to create renewed interest in their training programs

The Flash banner immediately under the header changes continuously. The use of the reds, browns and tan is cohesive and denotes the passion that dance invokes.

CONCEPT:

A new web application for Kids.doc, LLC. The site is a secured social media networking site using a SQL database ASP model.

The client wanted a family centric design style, therefore all artwork was accomplished using colored pencils, including the majority of the icons. This site is currently a work in progress.

Kids.doc Brochure (Z-Card)

CONCEPT:

Design a unique advertising brochure that would create interest in the new web application. This advertising brochure folds in a unique way, which creates a credit card size booklet with front and back covers. Studies show that 59% of recipients normally retain it for more than 30 days.
